How the Council works?
Local government plays a central and indispensable role within our federal system of government and is recognised in the Victorian Constitution as a distinct and independent tier of government. It is the level of government closest to the people and gives people a say in matters affecting their local area. Councils are governments – they provide a vehicle for the expression of local democracy.
DCC grants
Dublin City Council aims to support community groups with their activities and projects by promoting participation and involvement in the city through the community grants scheme. The Community Grants Scheme is run on an annual basis.
We asked the Dublin City Council for grants not for money but more so for stuff like a bench for our garden that we are designing and making for the student in our school as well as the residents in the area.
We have also asked for apple trees for our garden to make it more lively and welcoming.
